I’m often asked what philosophy I follow since I offer meditations and perspective on life. I follow two philosophies that are very similar. The first is called the Way of Self Teaching founded by Walter Makichen. One of its central tenets is that we’re our own best teachers—if we observe the patterns of our life, cultivate awareness and compassion, we can find any answers or truths that we need. Other principles:
- Make space for mindful awareness and meditation
- Practice compassion and non-judgement
- Acknowledge the interconnectedness of the universe
- Strive for moderation in all things
- Trust yourself
- Live with creative purpose
The second philosophy I follow is Science of Mind founded by Ernest Holmes. Science of Mind teaches powerful principles for personal and global transformation and honors all paths to divinity It also promotes a community of tolerance, understanding, respect and inclusion. I’m a member of Mile Hi Church in Denver, CO.
I strive to live my life by each of these philosophies and continue to learn and evolve.
